About the Design

The finished leather utility bag includes four pockets:

• Small pocket for a credit card
• Main pocket large enough for passports and a phone
• Small flat interior pocket
• Rear flat pocket for tickets or other travel documents

The main compartment can hold approximately three passports together with everyday essentials.

The pattern can be used to make a compact sling bag, passport holder, travel pouch or waist bag.

Recommended Leather

Recommended leather:

• 2.0–2.2 mm / approximately 5–6 oz leather
• Thread: approximately 0.8 mm

Additional leather is required for the belt or strap.

Hardware Required

• Minimum 6 × 6 mm eyelets
• 2 × 13 mm snap fasteners
• 2 × Chicago screws
• 1 × 43–45 mm double-prong or single-prong buckle

Hardware is not included.

Tools

Basic leatherworking tools are required:

• Craft knife
• Hole punch
• Edge beveller
• Two stitching needles
• Hammer or mallet

For the printable PDF version, we recommend using a single-hole punch because very small differences in hole spacing can occur depending on printer settings.
